New Theme from WooThemes Sparks Interest
WooThemes is at it again, they’ve released a new premium WordPress theme yesterday with a rather clever name. Its name, “Canvas“, is quite fitting as it initially looks like a big blank sheet of paper. The default style contains the basic structural elements and a few cosmetic features to keep everything looking nice and clean. The theme comes with a total of six different styles and each of them is very unique.
WooThemes, however, didn’t stop there; the name “Canvas” goes much further. They’ve built so many options into the easy-to-use administrative panel that you can customize the entire layout and literally design your own unique site without ever having to edit any of the themes files. After setting the overall width of your site; you can change the designs structure, or as they call it the “Main Layout”, so that it has 1, 2, or 3 columns.
The fully featured administration panel gives you the ability to change the background, color of links, font family and sizes, and it even lets you edit the header, navigation, widgets, footer, and just about anything else you may want to change. With Canvas, they have also implemented the option to enable CSS3 rounded corners! I must remind you that all of this is on top of the standard features that you would find in any other WooThemes product. This would include lifetime support and updates plus it’s built on the WooThemes framework which gives you many additional options.
Conclusion
Canvas is simply an amazing theme and does what it was made to do flawlessly. However, it can be frustrating and time consuming when trying to find the perfect design for your website. Thankfully though, the 6 included styles help get you started and once everything is setup the way you like; it’s a breeze to make minor adjustments to keep things looking fresh. I personally love the theme and would highly recommend it to everyone who is looking for a highly customizable theme that is not bloated. Canvas gives you the ability to be lazy by changing only a few settings before you are able to launch a site. However, it’s flexible enough that you could go all-out with your imagination and create an extraordinary piece of art. Priced at just $70 USD, you can’t go wrong.
